The board looks fine to me, though a little quiet the past week or so.

I'd hate to deprive shrew of a spanking just because she didn't do this particular thing wrong, though. I'm sure we can find another excuse. For that matter, who NEEDS an excuse?

*smack*

As for the spam, I believe BB reinstalled the spam deterrent feature (the test task required for registration that keeps bots from posting) last night, so maybe we will have no more of that. It accidentally was removed during a forum software update about a week ago, and boy howdy, did we ever miss it. It is definitely a valuable resource for the board. I never realized how many spam accounts it was preventing until it was gone.

You most certainly didn't kill the board, shrew. It's working flawlessly for me. Let's hope what you saw was only a transient glitch.

Oh, thaaaaaaaat. How thoroughly must you look at the forum to notice that? Shrew would make a wonderful inspector. Well, she'd be wonderful for the customers. The manufacturer would not like having to discard half the product because she found a flaw.

I have no idea what is supposed to go in the location where the error message is. It's on every page. It appears below (under) what I THINK is supposed to be the last text or graphic ON the page (the "powered by phpBB" credit). Last night in chat when BB was updating the spammer blocker, he mentioned that there was another anti-spam precaution he could not install because there was an unresolved bug in the latest update of the forum software. I have no idea what he was referring to, but maybe that message is evidence of the unresolved bug.

If BB sees this later perhaps he will enlighten us.

In any case, I can't notice or detect anything that is not working properly, other than that error message appearing. I hope all is well.

Did I kill the board?

phpBB, the software we use to host the forum, is having some problems right now. I've gotten this one fixed, but the spam issue is going to linger for a while, I'm afraid.
